While demand for multi-scale guitars has been growing in recent years, many models still have a more distinctive playing feel compared to standard fretted models.

However, this instrument was designed with the gentlest possible transition and takes into account the tension balance of each string.

・35-34-inch multi-scale

The scale length features BTB’s signature 35-inch scale on the 5th string side and a 34-inch scale on the 1st string side. This is a design unique to the BTB-LM model that ensures a resonant, well-defined tone even with the thicker low strings, while minimizing the difference in playability compared to standard long-scale basses.

・5-piece Maple/Walnut neck with graphite reinforcement rods

A 5-piece neck combining maple—known for its clear tone and rich attack—with hard walnut. Rigidity is enhanced by graphite rods installed inside the neck.

・Neck-through construction

The long sustain and rich resonance provided by the neck-through construction, along with the seamless playing feel across the entire fretboard, are arguably the greatest features of BTB basses.

・Rosewood fretboard

We’ve selected rosewood—the most popular material for fretboards—which is known for its well-balanced sound.

・Medium Stainless Steel frets

The frets are made of stainless steel, known for their bright tone and high durability.

・Flamed Maple top / Ash / Okoume wing body

The wing body features a flamed maple top laminated with layers of ash and okoume.

・T1 pickups

This humbucker features two original separate coils designed to deliver a tight low-end response, punchy mids, and clear highs. The rounded edges of the pickup covers make it easy to rest your fingers on them, and by slightly offsetting the ends of the two pickups so they run nearly parallel to the strings, this design provides a level of playability not found in other multi-scale models. Each pickup can also be individually height-adjusted.

・Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ with EQ bypass switch & Mid frequency switch

This equalizer produces a wide-range, low-noise active sound, and the switch allows you to select mid-range frequencies at 250 Hz, 450 Hz, or 700 Hz. It is also equipped with an EQ bypass switch, allowing it to be used as a passive bass. (When bypassed: Tone control via the Treble knob)

・MR5S Bridge

Features the MR5S (Monorail) bridge, equipped with a string spacing adjustment mechanism. Each string rests on an independent bridge, transmitting string vibration directly to the body.

Additionally, the saddles can be moved ±1.5 mm left and right, allowing you to adjust the spacing between strings (string spacing) as desired within the adjustable range. This enables precise adjustments tailored to your playing style.
