Since becoming a subsidiary of Baldwin in 1967, Gretsch has continued to release a variety of unique models alongside its original models. This latest arrival is a rare solid-state model that was only produced for a few years in the late 1970s.

This is model number 7628, a double cutaway walnut body with a walnut and maple through neck.
This model features a rosewood fingerboard and two humbucking pickups, which are quite rare materials among Gretsch models.

【body】
The overall weight is approximately 4.0 kg. The double-cutaway walnut body features beautiful wood grain, a clear pickguard, and a contoured finish reminiscent of a work of art. While there is some weather checking, dents, and tarnish on the metal parts, the finish is in good condition and the guitar is in relatively good condition. The string stopper ferrule for stringing through the strings is missing.

【neck】
The neck is a walnut/maple neck-through construction. There is some weather checking and minor dents, but it remains in excellent condition, just like the body. The "G" marked tuners function well with only slight variations in winding. The frets and nut have been replaced once, and there is almost no wear, ensuring good playability. The nut width is 43.2mm. The neck shape can be described as wide and thin.

[Electrical system]
The controls are a 3-way pickup selector, 2 volumes, and 2 tones. The two original humbuckers in this classic style produce a natural tone that's great. It's versatile, with a wide range of uses, from clean to distorted sounds.
