The Yamaha LJ16 ARE builds on the LJ6 platform with upgraded all-solid construction, delivering greater depth, resonance, and dynamic range in a more controlled medium jumbo format. Built around Yamaha’s LJ body shape, it offers a focused and balanced voice that stands apart from larger dreadnought-style guitars.
While many players default to larger body acoustics, the LJ shape provides a more controlled low end and clearer midrange response that often becomes the preferred choice once experienced in person. The LJ16 ARE takes this further with solid rosewood back and sides, adding harmonic richness, sustain, and a broader tonal range while maintaining definition and balance.
The solid Engelmann spruce top features Yamaha’s A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement) treatment, designed to create a warmer, more mature tonal response with enhanced resonance and responsiveness. The guitar responds naturally to both lighter touch and more aggressive playing styles, making it highly adaptable across a wide range of musical applications.
The 5-ply mahogany/rosewood neck improves structural stability and contributes to the guitar’s dependable feel over time. Yamaha’s SRT Zero Impact pickup system is designed to preserve the natural resonance and acoustic voice of the instrument without affecting vibration or feel, making the LJ16 ARE equally capable on stage, in the studio, or at home.
