Overview

F.E. Olds manufactured brass instruments out of Los Angeles (and later Fullerton), CA from the early 1900s to 1979. The Ambassador Series of coronets, trumpets and trombones was developed in 1948 and ran throughout the company's history as one of the most iconic products.

Prices for the Ambassador Coronet vary significantly depending on the era it was made. Pre-1960s instruments made in Los Angeles are the most highly sought after, while those in the 1960s are valued slightly lower. From the late 1960s onward production shifted to mass-produced student models and quality declined. These instruments are worth less than earlier models.
