About this listing
Original Neumann U47a with its k47 capsule, bv08 txfmr, nuvistor tube as well as the NG psu, cable, after market shock mount and mic box. This U47 has been with the same owner for at 45 years and over the last 30 years has been in dry storage until recently. I have listened to it several times and it’s always been pleasing and this particular nuvistor version has won in blind shootouts (Wav files available). Worth mentioning that It’s been a nuvistor for as long as my client has owned the mic (since the early 80’s) And according to the internet(I know but I had to ask) this late variant U47 ser # 5357 apparently left the factory outfitted with a nuvistor tube. “The Tube (The 'a' designation): Standard vintage U47s used the rare Telefunken VF14 (or VF14M) vacuum tube. When those ran out, Neumann modified the circuit near the end of the production run to accept a tiny 13CW4 Nuvistor tube, labeling these factory units as the U47a” Bottom Line : This mic sounds great! I have voice and drum room wav files going through a neve 31102 at 45db of gain with no other processing to share. Message me to request those. **Buyer Confidence: All equipment is tested / serviced unless otherwise mentioned.
