About this listing
This Epiphone AJ-220SCE/VS is an acoustic-electric guitar from the Advanced Jumbo series, a model praised for its focused and balanced tone that blends deep, rich bass with crisp, clear highs. You get a solid Sitka spruce top paired with select mahogany back and sides, delivering a commanding yet well-balanced voice that is often described as the perfect instrument for the soloist or singer-songwriter. The mahogany neck features a comfortable SlimTaper "D" or "C" profile and a 25.5-inch scale length, with a 20-fret granadillo, rosewood, or pau ferro fingerboard with a 12-inch radius. A Venetian cutaway provides easy access to the upper frets, and the vintage sunburst finish gives it a classic look that fits in any setting.
Plug in and the Fishman Sonicore pickup and Presys II preamp system—or in some variants, the Shadow Performer preamp—deliver reliable amplified sound with volume, bass, treble, and phase controls, plus a built-in tuner. Players consistently praise its smooth playability, warm sound, and excellent value, though some have noted that the input jack can become loose over time. This is a versatile, stage-ready workhorse that has been a best-seller for Epiphone for good reason.
