Video: Joe Armon-Jones' Aquarii Studio | Show Us Your Space

Aquarii is the "hub of operations" for the dub-drenched work of British musician, composer, producer, and bandleader Joe Armon-Jones. With vintage treats like a Mu-Tron Bi-Phase (as used by hero Lee "Scratch" Perry) and a Soundcraft mixer that puts every mix at his fingertips, Joe's studio is stocked with fantastic second-hand gear.

As a keyboardist, he's plenty of options: a vintage Rhodes, an UDO Audio Super 8, and a wondrous, Leslie-equipped Hammond organ, among others. And for his mixing and production work, he employs an Roland RE-101 Space Echo, a Dynachord Echochord 100, and an open spring reverb with "a coaster... for gating, of course," he jokes.

Taken together, his hard-working collection is a dream of brilliant keys and tactile processors, many of which were bought right here on Reverb. In fact, he says, "Almost everything in this studio to be honest," he says.

Joe Armon-Jones' latest, All the Quiet (Part I), was just released in March, and Part II will arrive in June. Follow the link to hear or order the records.
