Video: How Acid House Founder DJ Pierre Makes Tracks Today

Last month, we had the opportunity to participate in the 2023 ADE Lab in Amsterdam. This event brought together talented producers, DJs, and electronic music creators to engage in gear testing, workshops, and panel discussions.

In collaboration with Reason Studios, we organized a panel featuring DJ Pierre, the renowned creator of acid house. DJ Pierre has been utilizing Reason software for multiple decades, making him an esteemed expert in the field. Our host and editor, Fess Grandiose, had the privilege of engaging in a discussion with Pierre to delve into his influential legacy and shed light on his current usage of Reason software in the studio. He also discussed his use of effects in Reason to enhance the impact of his acid bass lines, ensuring they still deliver that punch in club PA systems.

Pierre gave us an exclusive live session view of his latest release with Paul Van Dyk, titled "Acid Traxxxx." This track represents a modern interpretation of the original "Acid Tracks," which was originally produced by DJ Pierre and Phuture and released in 1987 on Trax Records in Chicago.
