This is the first version of the Coopersonic Dual Valve Distortion, a pedal widely known as a key component of the Arctic Monkeys’ drive tone. It is an extremely rare pedal that is nearly impossible to find worldwide.
This early version has no model name on it. It is said that the name later evolved from “Valve Slapper” to “Dual Valve Distortion.”
Unlike later versions that run on 12V power, this unit takes direct 220V-240V mains power,
it feels as if your amp has an extra gain stage added—the drive comes on very naturally and organically.
There is an internal switch for selecting tube pin configurations, allowing the use of various tubes such as 12AX7, 6N2P, ECC83, and 5751 (lower gain). The tonal differences between tubes are said to be quite noticeable, though I haven’t personally swapped them, so I can’t comment in detail.
Works perfectly without any problems
