DESCRIPTION

The Revv Amplification G8 is a compact noise gate pedal designed to remove hum, hiss and unwanted background noise from a guitar or bass rig without altering the tone or feel of the instrument, whether it is being used for ultra-high-gain metal, articulate blues, country picking or clean studio work. Developed from the highly regarded gate built into Revv’s Generator 120 MK3 amplifier, it can be placed at the front of a signal chain, in an amplifier’s effects loop, or around specific noisy pedals using its send and return connections, allowing it to deal with noise from pickups, pedals, amplifiers and even the electrical environment while leaving time-based and modulation effects untouched.

Sonically, the Revv Amplification G8 is designed to be transparent when set for everyday use, keeping the natural voice of the guitar and amplifier intact while quietly removing background noise between notes. High-gain players can push it into a much tighter, more aggressive response for sharply defined staccato rhythms where the gate is clearly audible, but even then the core tone remains uncoloured.
