This is a wonderful 1970s WEM (Watkins) Clubman solid-state combo, complete with its original 8" Elac speaker. A genuine piece of British amplification history, the Clubman captures the unmistakable character of early UK transistor tone — warm, punchy, and full of charm.
This example has some signs of use but overall it is in very good original condition, a very clean and unmolested and unusual UK made vintage amp.
The Clubman was designed as a simple, reliable working musician’s amp, but its voice has earned a loyal following. Clean tones are bright and articulate with that classic British edge, while the amp breaks up naturally as you dig in, producing a gritty, vintage-styled overdrive that feels incredibly responsive. It’s the kind of tone that suits garage rock, blues, and early punk just as well as clean, jangly styles. Despite its compact size, the amp projects surprisingly well and retains a rich midrange presence that sits beautifully in a mix.
This example is in lovely vintage condition and remains fitted with its original Elac driver, which is a huge part of the amp’s authentic sound. Everything functions as it should, and the amp delivers that unmistakable WEM flavour — lively, musical, and wonderfully nostalgic.
As with all vintage arrivals, this amplifier has been checked over by our workshop team to ensure it is ready for its next home.
