Gretsch Winyard Malcolm Young Relic

Made to order, Winyard Guitars custom "Salute" to the 1963 Gretsch G6131 Jet Firebird that brought all of Malcolm Young's classic AC/DC riffs to the world.

Based on a new Gretsch Double Jet, all metal and electrical parts have been stripped, tested, upgraded or replaced with the best possible current alternatives. Yellowed, aged, relic'd, and given every ounce of mojo typical of a guitar that has seen hundreds of gigs around the world. Brand new Filtertron hand-made by Fletcher Pickups (closest possible replica of Malcolm's Gretsch pickup that was re-wound by John Diggins in Birmingham) and a complete Professional fret-level and crown, making this the best sounding AND playing MY available. Beautiful 7lb 4oz/3.28kg average weight and lovely balance. Can be fitted with a trapeze tailpiece for additional cost typically £30 (see last image) for added harmonics like Malcolm's Burns tailpiece.

Lightweight Tune-o-matic bridge and tailpiece, or Trapeze tailpiece (cost option)

Professional fret dress, crown and set-up

Hand-aged metal parts, yellowed binding and finish

This "Salute" is set-up for 10-46 strings, so if you want one set up for 12-56s like Malcolm, please get in touch. Wiring can be specified. Description of this "Salute" is Mint, as everything is brand new of course, but made to look old. There is a 3-4 week lead time on manufacture.
