For sale is a DIY Ensoniq ESQ-1/SQ-80/ESQ-M EEPROM Memory Cartridge. After looking online for an original cartridge and being rather shocked by the prices, I stumbled across the DIY/open source project by James Hagerman on Github. He has in the past assembled these cartridges and sold them, but they've been out of stock for a few years and his Reverb store seems inactive now, so I decided to make some myself.

The circuit board manufacturer I went with has a minimum order quantity, so I kept one for myself, gave one to my friend but I still had quite a few spare. Having all the necessary components to make up the finished items, I figured I'd spread the love and complete them to sell here at cost price for those who might be interested.

I have made them up as the 64kb versions, which will store two complete banks of 40 sounds. When you include the internal memory of the synth, you'll have 120 sounds in total at your fingertips.

To test they function as expected, I have copied my SQ-80s internal sounds (my current favourites) onto the cartridge as well, so you'll not only get the cartridge but some new sounds too. ESQ-1 owners, you mileage may vary here as the SQ-80 preset data may not work properly on the older machines. No problem, as you can resave as many of your own sounds on the cartridge as you like.

The original project from James can be found on Github (Reverb won't allow me to post the URL here). Please note that I do not own these files and I would like to thank James for his hard work, along with Ensoniq legend Rainer Buchty for helping him figure it all out.
