There are now only 3 of these all tube 6v6 amps available, one was sold last week on Reverb.
Quote from the customer: "Wow! What can I say except that I've never been more impressed with an amp since plugging into a Boogie IIC+ many, many years ago. Thank you Sound Stream for restoring my inspiration to just play!"
Apparently, they were bought for a world tour and had been in storage at the promoter's place. The amp is in excellent to new condition and sounds amazing. Very
Rush and Zeppelin with all the bark and growl
you would ever need. We ran the amp for over 24 hours without any
problems. You can play the amp at a low volume, but it still cuts
through the mix like butter with some serious midrange going on. Also,
the amp comes with a killer reverb pedal that sounds like a spring, but
with more presence. The attenuator can control how much power the tubes
put out. You can make the amp real smooth, or fill every hole. You
can also change the preamp tubes to increase the clean headroom, or give
it just a little bite for your pedals. See the tube replacement chart in the pictures.
Here're the specifications of the mods that came with the amp. They were modified at Kasha Amplifiers with the following mods:
Upgrade Mods:
- Components upgraded to Evil Robot USA standards.
- Runs 25% cooler than stock
- Vibrato components changed to USA model and works while the effects loop is engaged
- Power attenuator - The power tubes can run cold, medium or hot which results in cleaner, tighter or fuller tone.
- Power tube mod - Increases life of power tubes, all components upgrade in power tube section
Reminiscent of the original Magnatone™ Tonemaster™ Troubador 214 amp that came onto the market in 1959 and immediately set the standard for rock n’ roll, blues and R&B tone, with incredibly smooth harmonics and sweet Class A tone has once again been resurrected from the dead. The EVIL ROBOT amplifier was carefully reconstructed from the ground up paying attention to the classic construction, wood, electronics and most of all TONE that have made this amplifier one of the most sought after tone machines for many artists over the years.
Phil X who is the host of the Fretted Americana hit classic guitar show on YouTube™ has demonstrated this amp with classic guitars dating as far back as the 30’s to the present with hundreds of videos playing rock classics. Hundreds of comments came in talking about how great Phil’s amp sounded and where to buy this amp that is no longer in production. Fretted Americana, Inc. and Kasha Amplifiers, Inc. teamed up to make this amp available once more with the new economical and enhanced version of the classic Evil Robot named C30. Designed from the ground up by John Kasha of the boutique amplifier company Kasha Amplifiers, Inc.
