KORG WAVESTATION SOUND BANK - "NEW AGE - VOLUME II"

This is a 50 patch sound bank for the Korg Wavestation family of synthesizers that was professional programmed and originally sold by Sound Source Unlimited throughout the 1990's.     I have re-released this for direct sale through Reverb.

Upon purchase, you will ultimately receive a ZIP archive of the sound bank you purchased.     UNZIP this archive and you will now have both a .SYX and .MID FILE (otherwise known as an SMF or Standard Midi File).   Use either to load the sound bank into your synthesizer via your preferred choice of bulk loader (.SYX) or MIDI sequencer (.MID).     Documentation for the load procedure is included as well in a step-by-step format for SMF.

OVERVIEW:

This is a very fun set of sounds but does not contain normal gigging sounds like pianos, strings and horns.   It is full of textures, FX, a lot of good scary soundtrack sounds and other useful or not-so-useful novelty items.    

This bank is good for experimental music, soundtrack work, or anyone looking for alternative type sounds that are professionally programmed, but uncommon.     There are a few bread and butter sounds in there, but mostly not.

Sound titles include "Hassellian Air", "And then there was 1", "Belle Star", "Sioux Nation", "Accordion to Hoyle", "Talking Drum" and "Southern Pole".

This bank will work in a normal Wavestation or EX, Wavestation A/D, or Wavestation SR.     In fact, about a dozen or so of these sounds are already integrated into the internal ROM of the Wavestation SR - so be forewarned that if you have the SR there will be some duplicates here.   Korg licensed some of these sounds for the original release of the Wavestation SR.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:



This sound bank can be transferred via any type of computer or hardware sequencer that supports .MID files (standard midi files) or .SYX .   The transfer will also require a midi interface, midi cable and the relevant synthesizer to be loaded.

For the JD-800 the patches are delivered as two separate .MID / .SYX files for your MIDI sequencer or loader application (one patch bank and one special setup).     For the JD-990 the file is delivered as one .MID / .SYX file which includes both and only requires one bulk dump.

After delivery, you will import this .MID file into your MIDI sequencer and then take the appropriate steps to load it from your sequencer into the JD internal memory area or use an .SYX program to load that way.   It will erase your existing internal memory -- so please back up before you do the transfer if you want to preserve the original contents.   Once loaded, you can copy the data to a RAM card or to your editor / librarian of choice for safekeeping.
