The Two Notes Torpedo Captor 16 is a wonderfully practical solution for guitarists and bassists who love the sound of their valve amplifier working hard but don't necessarily wish to share that enthusiasm with the entire neighbourhood.

Combining a reactive load box, power attenuator, speaker simulator and DI in one sturdy metal enclosure, the Captor allows you to explore your amplifier's natural drive characteristics at more manageable listening levels, or record silently without connecting a speaker cabinet.

Unlike a simple resistive load, its reactive design is intended to interact with your amplifier in a manner more closely resembling a real loudspeaker, helping preserve the response and feel of your amp.

The built-in -20dB attenuator reduces the signal reaching your speaker cabinet, making it easier to enjoy those sweet, saturated valve tones without excessive volume. When silence is required, the Captor can operate as a standalone load box with a suitable amplifier.

For recording, the balanced XLR DI provides access to the onboard analogue speaker simulation, with guitar, bass and off settings. Alternatively, the dry line output lets you feed an untreated signal into your audio interface for processing with your favourite impulse responses or cabinet simulation software.
