This is a great sounding 1968 PRE ROLA Celestion G12M T1220 Greenback speaker, ready to be used!

Pre-ROLA smooth finish 1-tab chassis, pre-ROLA original Pulsonic cone etc.

This would make an amazing replacement in any (Marshall) 1x12 or 2x12 cabinet or in any BluesBreaker, 18WATT Combo etc.!!!

The speaker is in great nick and has the original 35 102 003 stamped Pulsonic cone.

No front gasket date stamp is visible but as it has the T1220 type stamp printed horizontally on the frame leg, and it is a single tab chassis, this is for sure a 1968. The faint ink can sometimes make them difficult or even impossible to read.

These sound absolutely super nice. Roaring and smooth. It has a little cone rub when pushed but it sounds open, clear and crisp when played in an amp. No shizzle, no fizzle. Sound just great!

The T1221 (16Ohm) and T1220 (8Ohm) are the legendary 'greenback' speaker. First introduced in March 1965. It is the standard specification 75hz G12M guitar speaker and a very popular speaker with rock guitarists. This speaker type has a nice 'juicy' compressed tone when pushed hard, with a warm mid-range. Often described as 'woody'.
