I am selling this 1959 Gibson Les Paul Junior for a friend who is thinning out some of his guitars.

This guitar shows some really nice wear. It has seen real action through the years but has survived to be an amazing sounding and playing vintage guitar from the pinnacle year for Gibson guitars: the golden era - a genuine '50's Gibson Les Paul model.

In the past it has had a neck break as can be seen in the photos but during the re-fret with period correct frets and bone nut, the old break was seen to be very stable and indeed, this guitar is very stable in terms of tuning!

My friend had the re-fret done professionally and it really does bring old guitars beck to modern playability.

Looking at it, I think the tuners aren't original although they appear to be old single line Klusons but with metal buttons and bushings from a more expensive model. I think the knobs are reproductions too and it has locking strap buttons fitted. All this was done before my friend bought it. He paid for the re-fret and bone nut.I have put a Faber wraparound bridge on it that my friend bought for it.

The original bridge is included as can be seen in the last picture but it is suffering from wear and is past its best really.

It looks nicely beat up to be honest but plays perfectly with the Faber bridge and the fretboard is suitably dark with minimal pitting. The case it comes in is a USA Les Paul case with custom pads to make the Junior snug inside.

A golden era Gibson with vintage vibe and at a decent price given the well repaired old neck break and the repaired headstock wing.
