World’s Most Popular Music Gear Website Eyes Continued International Growth With Addition of Gérard Danjou to Executive Team

Tuesday, April 3, 2017 -, the leading online marketplace dedicated to buying and selling music gear, has hired Gérard Danjou — former Executive Vice President of Global Business Development at Gibson Brands, Inc — to drive growth of Reverb in EMEA and APAC. Over the past two years, Reverb buyers, sellers, orders, and sales outside the U.S. have grown by over 500 percent and as Global Operations Director, Danjou will cultivate continued international growth and success.

“In just five years, Reverb has grown into not only the best place online to buy and sell music gear, but a global destination for musicians and music lovers to learn, connect, and find inspiration,” Danjou said. “After more than two decades growing international music and consumer brands, I’m excited to take what I’ve learned and lead the team that’s making Reverb an integral part of music communities worldwide.”

Danjou joins Reverb after more than three years at Gibson Brands. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President of Global Business Development, where he was responsible for Gibson business in EMEA, Japan, China, Asia Pacific, and the Americas. Danjou joined Gibson as President EMEA after fifteen years in various leadership roles at Newell Brands (formerly Newell Rubbermaid) and more than eight years in various sales, marketing, and finance roles at BIC, the world leader in stationery, lighters, and shavers.

Operating out of Reverb’s Amsterdam-based European headquarters, Danjou will be responsible for expanding relationships with potential sellers — including retailers, distributors, manufacturers, and individuals — leading local initiatives to attract new buyers, and pursuing partnerships and acquisition opportunities to accelerate international growth. He’ll also manage and grow Reverb’s international workforce, which currently includes employees in the UK, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Australia, and Japan.

“Based on his experience increasing global sales for one of the most historic brands in the music instrument industry, Gérard is extremely qualified to lead Reverb’s international team as we continue to expand,” said David Kalt, Founder & CEO of Reverb. “We’re proud of the incredible music gear marketplace and community we’ve built to date and under Gérard’s leadership, we look forward to connecting even more musicians across the globe to the gear and inspiration they need to make music.”
