Taylor's 500 series is distinguished by solid Mahogany back and sides with an Engelmann Spruce top and higher end appointments, such as abalone inlays and rosettes with bound bodies and fingerboards.
The Taylor 512e is the electronic-equipped version of the discontinued 512 Grand Concert. It featured a Fishman Onboard Blender system up until 2004, when the electronics were changed to Taylor's own Expression System.
