  • Wow!

You know, I was a bit skeptical of this when it first got released but it's turning out to be such an incredible tool for me. I love the delay tones, the attention to detail with each of the three tape types, and the amount of control you get over MIDI and on front end of the pedal. Strymon really p…

The Volante is full of more capabilities than you would assume fit in the medium-sized enclosure. All the delay settings are charming and beyond. The spring reverb is gorgeous. One could easily get lost for weeks wrapping your head around everything it can and will do..

This thing is a box of magic. There’s no other way to put it.

  • Finally....the complete Binson Echorec Experience

I have been following Binson Echorec and the numerous clones coming out recently for quite a number of years. More Information

The Strymon Volante Magnetic Echo Machine is a powerful echo box that packs three magnetic delay types—drum echo, tape echo, and reel-to-reel studio echo—into one super intuitive, stereo effect. Also packed into the pedal is a looper and a vintage spring reverb, giving players even more options for tone-shaping.

The pedal is based around a "multi-head" layout which allows you to control the level and feedback for each of four individual tape heads for an exceptionally detailed and realistic tape experience. A Record Level knob can increase the gain of the JFET preamp for a wide range of organic-sounding saturation tones, much like the fabled preamp section of the EP-3 Echoplex.

Also onboard you'll find controls for variable head spacing, panning for each tape head, three speed settings for the playback of the delay media, and a "wear" knob to control the amount of noise and saturation on the delay track. This being a Strymon pedal, you'll also find stereo ins and outs, MIDI and USB ports, and selectable Instrument and Line input settings on the back of the box.

This is a unit for players looking for nearly unlimited sonic possibility, with emulations of the vintage Binson Echorec, Roland Space Echo and Echoplex, and studio tape machines, all in a compact form factor with modern functionality.
