About this listing
This is the SONOR Signature Series HLD-593 Bell Bronze, an early model and considered SONOR's masterpiece. Initially released in 1987 as the 8-inch HLD590, the 4-inch HLD593 was released in 1989 and continued production until 1994. The copper-plated triple-flange hoops were only available as an option in the early models, making this a rare and exceptional piece. The hoops differ in thickness, 3mm on the top and 1.8mm on the bottom, making them essential for shaping this snare's sound. While traditional piccolo-sized shallow shells often suffer from reduced sound pressure, the sound emanating from this cast bronze shell offers stability and overwhelming sound pressure while maintaining a fast response, resulting in an exceptionally well-balanced sound. Compared to die-cast shells, it's suitable for a wide range of genres, from soft and delicate roll work to bold open rimshots, making it a must-have item for renowned studio musicians. Its imposing and imposing appearance is also a major draw.Manufactured by casting and then machining bronze, the edge is a thick 5mm, and the drum weighs approximately 7kg. Overall, there are minor scratches and small nicks on the plating, but there is absolutely no shell distortion or dents that would affect the sound, and it is in perfect working order. One of the set screws on the butt section has been replaced.(Specifications)Size: 14" x 4"Shell: Cast Bronze 3mmReinforcement Section 5mmHoops: Original Triple Flange Hoops10 TensionStrainer: Standard TypeSnappy: SONOR Steel Type 24-strand*This product was photographed in-store.
