Solid State Logic released the 48-input inline AWS 948 console in 2010. This updated version of the successful AWS 900+ SE sports a slick dual-input scheme with three selectable operating modes -- inline tracking, inline mix, and stereo mix. It also featured the new A-FADA system, in which a motorized analog fader followed DAW automation rather than relying on a console-specific automation system. The AWS 924 and 948 also feature new LCD scribble strips, updated cosmetics, and a redesigned meter penthouse with a phase meter.
