Overview
The 1937 Rickenbacker Model 59 can be distinguished from later models due to it having just a single volume control. 1938 (and possibly 1939) models added a second knob for tone control before these instruments were quickly discontinued. Nearly identical instruments were available post-war as model NS (or simply S) with Shaded Gray finish.
