Overview
The Paul Reed Smith S2 Vela is something of a departure from the rest of the PRS line, taking cues from classic 1950s guitars while maintaining the stunning build quality and attention to detail for which PRS is known. The S2 Vela's offset mahogany body gracefully is at once classic and futuristic, setting the stage for a unique pickup combination that offers tons of tonal variety. Also available with a semi-hollow body.

More Information
In the bridge position is the Starla humbucker pickup with coil tap, putting forth the high-output tone that put PRS on the map, while the neck pickup is a newly-designed Type-D single coil. This pickup doesn't necessarily look like what you'd find in an old "Blackguard" guitar, but absolutely nails that twangy sound either straight into an amp or piped into a train of pedals. The plate-style bridge with adjustable brass saddles gives the S2 Vela singing sustain and makes intonation a breeze, keeping you in tune no matter where you are on the fretboard. Whether you're a dedicated Paul Reed Smith devotee or just want a workhorse guitar that covers lots of ground, the PRS S2 Vela should be at or near the top of your list.
