This is an all-tube, American-made (2010) bass amp that puts out a ton of fantastic tone for the money. It is currently powered by a matched sextet of JJ EL34/6L6’s from EuroTubes. It produces 225W into 2, 4 or 8 ohms (the impedance switch is on the back panel). There are three preamp tubes - two 12AX7’s and one 12AT7. Tone controls include a Bright switch and three-band rotary EQ with a four-position mid-frequency selector (200-400-600-800Hz). Resonance and Presence knobs modulate damping of the power amp and have a powerful effect. The Resonance knob adjusts the lower-end (tighter at ‘0’ and looser at ‘10’). Presence adjusts higher-frequency damping from ‘mellow’ to ‘biting’. There are separate Clean and Overdrive channels, each with its own gain control. At '10', the Overdrive channel pulls in an impressive amount of distortion. The Clean and OD channels can be switched on the front panel or with a footswitch (not included). A Master Volume knob adjusts overall output. Send and Return jacks are also found on the front panel. This amp sounds fantastic and is quiet, with no fan. It is in excellent cosmetic condition, with no significant dents, dings or scratches and no missing tolex. There are a few small spots where the tolex looks like it has been repaired. These are very difficult to see. The previous owner painted the front panel Peavey logo matte black to match the tolex. This was done well and looks better than the original silver in my opinion. The amp will come with a custom Tuki padded cover (a $73 value) and power cable. The enclosed manual is well-written and provides a series of suggested settings. Although local pickup would be easier, I am willing to ship. I am very careful about packing tube amps and have quite a bit of experience with this. I can either wrap the power tubes individually or leave them in place and stuff the cavity with packing material to prevent damage. Amp dimensions are: 24.4”W x 11.2”D x 11”H, 57.8 lbs.
