Overview

The OB-X was the first of Oberheim's legendary OB line and was initially offered as as a direct competitor to the Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 at a more affordable price. This synthesizer featured 4, 6, and 8 voice polyphony, and analog 2 pole VCF and allowed 32 slots of patch memory. Known for its huge analog sound, this synth also featured additional functions including a comprehensive modulation section, polyphonic portamento, and the 'Polymod' function which does not appear on other models in the OB line. This, along with Oberheim's larger models the OB-8 & OB-XA are some of the most popular and sought after 80's poly-synths and known for their unique and powerful sound.
