Résumé

Mu-tron (short for Musictronics) developed a series of highly innovative effects throughout the '70s, including the popular Mu-Tron III envelope filter. The Mu-tron Bi-Phase was a two channel Phase shifter with two "Sweep Generator" sections. This pedal was made with either a two-button or an optical pedal. The optical option is worth slightly more.

Years of Production: ca. 1972 - 1981

  • I had one in '83 that I bought for $300 with templates. I was in the Air Force and the dorm manager threw out a suitcase that contained the footswitch rendering the unit useless. I was offered $25 from a local store in' 93 and took it. You need the pedal for full operation, it takes up a lot of space and can be daunting at times.

  • quick and easy!

  • This pedal was ahead of its time...

The Mutron Bi-Phase is probably the most diverse phaser ever made. You can get sounds from a subtle early Eddie Van Halen sound to an all out Smashing Pumpkins sweep. And you can use the 2 phasors either separately or together to create an unlimited amount of sounds. Ahead of its time, this pedal is asset to any musician's arsenal.
