About this listing
Although I've listed this pedal as very good (it has a few minor scratches - see photos), it is actually in amazing working order for a 50+ year old pedal. I purchased the pedal new in the early 70's and it was primarily used for recording rather than gigging for a number of years. Then when I took a hiatus from playing out, it sat for nearly 40 years in a closet until I recently rediscovered it. Not only was I surprised that it actually still worked, I was stunned by the sound quality of the pedal after all these years; no noise, no hiss, just great phase shifting tone.As you probably know, this pedal is responsible for the unique tones in such classic rock as The Isley Brothers' "That Lady" and Led Zeppelin's "No Quarter". The Maestro PS-1A is also famous for shaping the guitar tones on the first four Rush albums (such as 2112) and the keyboard sounds on Steely Dan's The Royal Scam. Also used on albums by George Harrison, John Cipollina (Quick Silver Messenger Service), Steve Howe (Yes) and Terry Kath (Chicago).
