Overview

The JHS Pedals The Crayon is an overdrive pedal that is a smaller version of the JHS Colour Box pedal and emulates the distorted tones of a guitar plugged directly into a vintage British studio preamp, most notably heard in the guitar intro to The Beatles’ “Revolution.” Featuring master, pre-volume and EQ knobs, as well as a high-pass filter switch, the pedal is capable of fuzz, distortion, and overdrive tones.

YUMM! I love it. It bites when you crank up pre volume. Too often I find fuzz pedals to just be overwhelming and unuseable in group settings. This tone that it offers is perfect for any time you need some big dirt. I've also used it with bass and it still sounded great! WOO!

I've love having this guy on my board, smack in the middle. Fuzz, OD and wah on on side, modulation effects on the other. Perfects for getting that nasty Jesus and Mary Chain Psychocandy sound. Well crafted and highly inspiring.

That straight into the mixing board tone. Beatles. Led Zeppelin. I don't know how JHS did it, but they put it in a box. It's easy to find a great sound just by fiddling with the knobs. It's NOT just a gated fuzz pedal; I'm not sure what that guy was expecting. This is the sound of a guitar plugged into the desk. Special JHS voodoo, if you ask me.
