The TS10 has, in recent years, become one of the most legendary vintage guitar pedals. Largely due to the influence of John Mayer, who was initially inspired by the blues great Stevie Ray Vaughan, this pedal has become staple of classic, Dumble-style blues tones. The first run of these pedals produced from 1986 - 1990 was made in Japan and featured an MC4558 overdrive chip, or the even more sought after JRC4558D chip.

It's basically an 808 with less of a mid bark. Sounds a little more even and less harsh. It's relatively cheaply made and honestly the current maxon od808 sounds almost identical to my ears. I don't think the TS10 is worth the high price it fetches, but it's a cool piece of history.

  • great pedal!

The TS-10 (as a second boost stage, together with a Boss compressor/sustainer in front and a tube works tube driver as the first boost stage) has been the mainstay of my pedal board since 1990!

One of the best original TS sounds...Very open and dynamic pedal with great transparency and touch sensitivity! Built quality doesn’t apply for heavy road use...Can only compare it with Ibanez TS808HW, Duellist, RYRA 808, old hand painted Rockbox Boiling Point with JRC chip...!!!
