About this listing
A 1966 Gretsch 6122 Country Gentleman has arrived! Although the serial number indicates a 1964 model, the presence of two potentiometers confirms it was manufactured in 1966, so based on an overall assessment, we have classified it as a 1966 model. With its beautiful double-cutaway body, understated walnut-colored finish, and gold hardware, it boasts the distinctive look that only Gretsch can offer. It is equipped with a Super'Tron pickup on the neck side and a Filter'Tron on the bridge side. It offers a wide range of tones, from a rich, mellow sound to a crisp, bright tone. The controls are classic Gretsch: a pickup selector, tone selector, master volume, front volume, and rear volume. It also features a standby switch and a mute mechanism. The guitar shows signs of use, including scratches, dents, and weather checking. There is paint melting on the back of the neck, likely caused by a stand, as well as paint wear around the bridge. The guitar has undergone refretting, fingerboard correction, binding repair, and wiring repair. Although the binding has been repaired, there are some areas where the binding is missing. Additionally, the pickguard has been replaced and modified. The pickup escutcheon has a crack and has been repaired with adhesive. While it shows general signs of use, this guitar possesses the authentic vintage Gretsch vibe and sound. Please consider this opportunity.
