GMF has been quietly generating an industry buzz with
their new acoustic Preamp/DI. Greg Farres the original founder and designer of
the Ultrasound Amps line of products started GMF to offer new,
innovative, and great sounding acoustic gear to the music market.
GMF listened to the comments of both stage and studio
players and designed this special unit for both stage and
personal recording studio applications with even more options for
different musical situations!
The Ai1 features a huge variety of control to shape the
sound as well as other features simply not found in other acoustic Preamp/DI’s.
First, it's a direct to amp preamp/EQ that sounds
good straight to amp and has plenty of headroom and adjustment.
Second, it's a headphone amp!! Perfect for late night
jams or when an amp is not available. The unit is self-powered to receive a
headphone connection. Hook some effects in line, Delay, Reverb,
Chorus, etc., it really starts to come alive. The compact size
is great for travel, will fit in most guitar cases.
Third, it's a direct box!!
DI balanced output for going straight to a board or mixer and an unbalanced
Line Out, perfect for driving a powered cabinet. Now you can have your acoustic
going direct to a mixer or mains without the hassle of setting up a mic in
front of your amp.
Any of these options can be useful as a stand-alone item,
but they are all available in the Ai1.
In addition to all of these features, GMF
added “stereo” Line In, so a music source can be added to play music or backing
tracks from a tape/CD/Mp3 player or I-Pod or I-Phone and mixed into “all” of
the outputs. (Direct Out/Line Out/Headphones)
There is also a “stereo” Line Out feature
which allows you to patch the Ai1 into a home or car stereo system so you can
play you acoustic instrument without an expensive amp.The Ai1 can also be used as an AV (Audio/Video/Multimedia)
Direct BoxThe Ai1 is the ideal input solution for any application
where stereo iPods, Laptop computers, consumer DVD players, Consumer HiFi
equipment or video machines have to be connected to a single XLR input. Unlike
standard DI boxes, the Ai1 can accept virtually any input connection The Ai1 has stereo RCA line level inputs. A switchable
ground lift allows the Ai1 to effectively filter out any extraneous unwanted
ground hum. A 20Hz to 20kHz frequency response ensures the Ai1 will function
seamlessly with any high quality audio source.
The Ai1 is analog, which means no detail of your
sound is lost or processed.
