This model, which was produced for only a relatively short time, combines the elegant singlecut silhouette with a resonant semi-hollow body and a compact 767mm short-scale neck. Crafted at the Gibson factory in Memphis—which has since, unfortunately, closed—the ES Les Paul Bass is now one of the more interesting modern Gibson bass models and offers a truly unique alternative to classic solid-body basses.Sonically, the bass impresses with a warm, woody tone, pronounced low-midrange, and wonderfully dynamic response. The two specially tuned Gibson bass humbuckers, featuring AlNiCo III and AlNiCo II magnets, deliver a wide spectrum of sounds—ranging from round, deep vintage tones to crisp, assertive rock and blues sounds.
