About this listing
Clean, workhorse-era Les Paul Custom from 2000 in the most classic Ebony finish. This period sits firmly in Gibson’s modern production years: USA-made in Nashville, maple-topped mahogany body, mahogany neck, and a real ebony fingerboard, not Richlite. The Custom is the “Black Beauty” lineage that began in 1954 and was reintroduced in 1968; by 2000 it carried the familiar multi-ply binding, split-diamond headstock inlay, gold hardware, and medium-output humbuckers.Standard playwear from use, frets in great shape with plenty of life, hardware showing normal age to the gold plating. There is a headstock crack (not a full break) that has been professionally repaired and is totally stable in use and tuning. Includes the original Gibson hardshell case; COA/papers are not included. Weight is 4600g. This is a seriously underrated period for Gibson, and this Custom is a great example that is good to go and doesn’t cost a fortune.SPECIFICATIONSFinish: Ebony, gloss nitrocellulose lacquerConstruction: Solid mahogany back with carved maple top; set-neck constructionBody Binding: Multi-ply (7-ply top, 5-ply back), black multi-ply pickguardNeck: Mahogany, set-in; rounded “C” profileScale Length: 24.75″ / 628.6 mmFingerboard: Genuine ebony; 12″ radius; 22 medium-jumbo frets; mother-of-pearl block inlays; single-ply bound with nibsNut: 43 mm synthetic; adjustable truss rod with “Les Paul Custom” bell coverHeadstock: Split-diamond inlay; multi-ply binding; repaired and stable crackPickups: Gibson 490R (neck) / 498T (bridge), gold coversElectronics: 3-way toggle; 2 × volume, 2 × tone; factory wiring and potsHardware: Gold-plated; Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge; stopbar tailpieceTuners: Grover Rotomatic, goldStrap Buttons: Standard GibsonCase: Original Gibson hardshell case includedPapers/COA: Not includedCondition Notes: Standard playwear; frets in great condition; stable and well-repaired headstock repair
