About this listing
Gibson Gothic Flying V ex Zakk Wylde Black Label Society! The guitar features in the BLS "Counterfeit God" music video with legendary Hollywood actor Mark Wahlberg playing in the band! This was Black Label Society's first ever music video and was filmed while the band's members starred in the Hollywood movie "Rockstar" with Mark Wahlberg and Jennifer Aniston. The guitar toured around the world with the band for their first tours, first Ozzfest appearances, and can be seen in the band's earliest home videos and rehearsals. The guitar is a permanent and important part of history for fans of Zakk Wylde and Black Label Society. The guitar was there for the band's first tours, first music video, and first foray into Hollywood. It is the only Black Label Society tour and music video guitar ever available for sale. Comes with full provenance and COA. After years in the music and entertainment industry, I am now selling off my entire guitar collection, which includes important artist owned instruments. The guitar is in very good condition for being nearly 30 years old and toured around the world with a heavy metal band. It has had custom graphic stickers applied over time in different phases. The band's slogan "SDMF" at the top of the headstock was the first to be applied, followed by the right wing decal and the band's skull between the pickups, which then followed with more across the front and back in the following months and years until it was retired from regular service around 2003. The original BLS leather strap is included, as are some show flyers from 2000 that were left in the case. The case is the original for the guitar and was the tour case for the band and still has an airline tag attached to the handle. Full provenance on its history accompanies the guitar, including a signed COA and a two minute private video from Eric McKenna of Boogie Street Guitars fame confirming this was the Black Label Society guitar that came to him directly from his marketing relationship with the artist. Eric McKenna's relationship with Black Label Society is well known, and Black Label Society's guitar tech, Freddy Kowalo, has been on McKenna's podcast: "The Eric McKenna Project" which was highly publicized on metal news outlets like LoudWire.
