About this listing
Selling my personal vintage 1966 Gibson B-25. It’s in insanely good shape. No cracks in the wood. Only the normal nitro finish checking that is expected on guitars this age. Recently had a luthier replace the crappy plastic bridge with a solid ebony wood bridge. This is an extensive but really beneficial restoration. The restorations done were roughly $2000 worth of improvements, which is the reason for the list price. The plastic bridges use multiple bolts through the body, which pulls against a plywood bridge plate. This leads to the bridge pulling up and creating belly bulge, and often times, cracks over time. This restoration involves pulling up the plastic bridge cap, plugging all the bolt holes, pulling the existing bridge plate, cutting and installing a solid maple bridge plate, heat treating the top to remove any belly bulge, cutting a new bridge blank, cutting and filing a new Tusk saddle, and installing the bridge. It’s a ton of work but makes the bridge significantly more structurally sound. I also had the luthier do a neck reset while he was at it to compensate for the new bridge, and installed a LR Baggs Anthem. I’ve absolutely loved this guitar, and am only selling it because I bought my dream Martin and I’m just offsetting the cost since I won’t be playing this much anymore after getting the Martin. Not going to ship this outside the US unfortunately. Will also do local pickup if needed. Message with any questions.
