Bought this unit pretty recently. When I received it everything was fine, but after some light use the rewind and fast forward functions ceased to work. I ordered some new belts and a new idler tire, opened it up and replaced them. Now the fast forward and rewind work great, but pressing play instantly engages the auto-stop mechanism.It does seem like this is a common issue but people have differing opinions about what the fix is. Right now I just don't have the time to continue working on it. This could be a pretty simple job for someone who knows what they're doing.As a side note, the plastic film on the cover was still attached when I received it but I have since removed it. This picture was taken right after I received it.Externally everything is in pretty solid condition. There's a tiny spot near the Headphone control where a little of the finish has worn, and the remains of some adhesive above the cassette transport.Feel free to ask any questions.
