About this listing
This is a very early Fender Japan TL52-70 Telecaster from the A-serial period, serial number A000345.Fender dates Japanese-made instruments with an A + 6-digit serial to approximately 1985–1986, and A000345 is an exceptionally low number from this early period of Fender Japan production. What makes this particular guitar especially interesting is how much of its original documentation has remained with it. The A000345 serial number on the bridge plate matches the original warranty / owner's card and the original ¥70,000 price tag. The original instruction papers and other period documents are also included.Taken together, this makes it an extraordinarily complete example for collectors. Early A-serial TL52-70s do turn up from time to time, but finding one with this level of original documentation still together more than 40 years later is much more unusual. The TL52-70 is Fender Japan's take on an early-'50s blackguard Telecaster, featuring an ash body, maple neck and fingerboard, single-ply black pickguard, vintage-style three-brass-saddle bridge, and traditional Telecaster controls. It has the clear attack and dry, lively response you would expect from a good vintage-style Telecaster. The bridge pickup has plenty of bite and definition, while the neck position is warmer and rounder without becoming muddy.I also spent a good amount of time carefully maintaining and checking the guitar before listing it. It is now playing very well and is ready to enjoy.Beyond being a great-playing early Fender Japan Telecaster, the real appeal of this one is simply how complete it has remained. It is not often that an early Fender Japan Telecaster turns up with this much of its original history still intact.AccessoriesIncludes the original period documentation shown in the photos:Original warranty/owner's cardOriginal ¥70,000 price tagOriginal instruction/documentation papersAdditional original period paperwork shown in the photosPlease check the photos carefully for the exact contents and condition of all included paperwork. Condition Cosmetically very clean for its age, especially considering that this guitar dates from the mid-1980s.There are naturally some light signs of age and use consistent with a vintage instrument, but the guitar has been very well preserved overall. It has recently received careful maintenance and a thorough functional check before listing.Fully functional and works perfectly. Please examine all photos carefully, as they form an important part of the condition description.
