Overview
The original run of the Fender Telecaster Bass from 1968 - 1971 was, more accurately, a reissue of the original Precision Bass with slab body and maple fretboard. The Pink Paisley examples in particular are exceptionally collectable and command 5-figure prices in today's market. These basses went through a profound change toward the end of 1971 with the switch to a 3-bolt neck, a humbucking pickup all the way up at the neck, and the choice between rosewood and maple fretboards.
