Fender Stratocaster AerodyneClassic Special Edition 2002-03Information and details on this early run of Japanese Fenders is difficult to find and correlate ........ difficult at best, more like impossible.When I bought this guitar 5 years ago, I researched the different variants for about 2 weeks.Made in Japan... Crafted in Japan.. Classic... SE... AST.... What did it all mean, as far as features/specs etc....What a cluster f**k !!!I DID discover that the rumor was, the Japanese builders made the IMPORTS (sold in Japan) with better components, and better quality control.The EXPORTS (sold to USA, Canada, and all points west) were NOT given this special attention.My research indicated that THIS guitar was an Import, built to be sold to Japanese customers......and it shows it. The woods, fit, finish, and neck dress were all 100% as you can see. I love the carved top on this guitar, and the tiger stripe maple is stunning. The body looks thinner than a regular Strat and when wearing it you won't even notice it's there. While taking the pictures I could NOT find a mark on this guitar. Granted, my eyes are pretty old, but it looks like New Old Stock condition.I put the Lace Sensors with the Tortoise Shell pickguard in and I love how it looks.....the Laces sound fantastic.The guitar is in Mint++ condition and includes a brand new Fender hardshell case, with key....a Fender Custom Shop strap, and the bridge saddle wrench that fits Japanese guitars. There is no tremelo bar, I never had one and personally, I don't use the trem.
