About this listing
2007 Fender Jazzmaster Thin Skin Nitrocellulose Sonic Blue Lacquer. Stunning Jazzmaster that only gets better with age. The Thin Skins were special limited-run instruments made by Fender for 2 shops and had AVRI 62 specs with a 9.5-inch radius fretboard. I bought this guitar to replace a vintage 63 I had sold and was pleasantly surprised by how close it was to the 63 in specs, feel, and sound. This guitar has been loved and played; one of the major appeals of the nitro is how it ages, and the nitro shows some beautiful checking, as well as some yellowing on the armrest (see pictures). The body shows a few dents and dings. The headstock was 'touched up' by a local shop, who damaged the paint. 2 small dents on the back of the neck. Sonic Blue isn't easy to photograph and, in some light, appears more green. Guitar recently had a setup and frets leveled. Frets have plenty of life and bends to them. Neck is super straight, has a StewMac small shim, and has a comfortable C shape. The legendary AVRI pickups are very close to vintage grey bobbins with a tiny bit more brightness and clarity. Original bridge swapped out for a Staytrem (original bridge and cover included). The rhythm selector switch is wired to the bridge, which IMO makes it a lot more useful. It's also an easy mod to reverse. A very versatile guitar and was my #1 until I came upon another vintage one. Includes original brown G&G case, hangtags, paperwork, extra neck plate, original bridge and bridge cover, case keys, and Fender cleaning kit. Reach out with any questions.
