About this listing
The Fano Alt de Facto JM6 is a vintage-inspired electric guitar that combines the best features of classic models with modern craftsmanship and custom pickups. Each JM6 is hand-built by one builder in Scottsdale, AZ, using premium tone woods and aged hardware. This one was spec'ed out together by the head of Truetone and the head of Fano, collaborating to create some guitars that hadn't been done before. It's a one of a kind instrument and the only one out there right now.
Light and quick, this curvy beauty is made to respond to the touch. Get as rough or smooth as you like, it's built for comfort as well as speed. The JM6 incorporates a 25.5" scale length, compound radius (9.5 - 12.0"), and an early-60’s C Shape neck that feels comfortable and familiar in your hands.
A unique feature of this guitar is that the body is made out of Paulownia - a super light weight wood. That last photo showing the weight is right - the guitar weighs just 5.8 lbs. We've had a lot of JM6's here, and never one that light. It's actually kind of crazy. All of were blown away by this. Paulownia is one of the lightest viable tonewoods. It offers good sustain and a tone rich in midrange overtones, soft in the high-end, and pronounced in the lows. The end result is a guitar that is sonically balanced and won't sound harsh. For anyone that wants a lightweight JM6, this cannot be beat.
We went for another new twist new twist on this JM6, choosing to do it with Lambertones The Ristretto P90's. This was the suggestion of Fano's Graham Dowling, who had fallen in love with these pickups. Lambertones created a tone that's truly unique. They are low output pickups, much lower than a normal P90 (neck output measuring 3.65k ohms and bridge ouput 5.05k), but with the dynamics, concentration, and balance of the best single-coils out there. According to Lambertones, "Don’t be fooled, the volume signal output is there. It is comparable to any of the mainstream P90 models available today, but with our unique wire combination, magnet choices, and wire tensions we have been able to achieve a P90 clarity like never before." We were thoroughly impressed when plugging this JM6 into a variety of amps, and are now thinking to use these pickups in other guitars as well. Simply put, they sound amazing!
We chose the Light Distress package. The wear is minimal, is realistic, in the right places, and gives the guitar a great vintage look and feel. We also chose a Medium Distress finish for the neck, to give a worn in feel. Fano absolutely nailed this one, as they always do. The Desert Sand color is one that's rarely seen and looks great with the customized features like a Parchment pickguard, Black Mustang knobs and more.
Also, the guitar comes with a nice Fano gig bag, so you're ready to hit the road with this one.
Come to Truetone Music to give it a try, or order right here right now before it's gone!
