The Electro-Harmonix HOG, or Harmonic Octave Generator, is a guitar synthesizer that gives you crazy octave-spanning goodness without needing pesky specific pickups. Just plug in and get artifact-free polyphonic tracking using ten different harmonic intervals, spanning from two suboctaves below your original pitch to up to four octaves above. You can even turn the HOG into a whammy pedal using its Pitch Bend mode, or plug in the footswitch to change between presets quickly.     I love the way this pedal sounds using my cello. The tracking isn't incredibly fast but you shouldn't expect any of these kinds of pedals to be. My favorite use of this pedal is for long drawn out bowed accompaniment. The pedal adds so much warmth and depth to my sound. The tracking isnt a big deal …
