Doepfer's new version of the high end VCO is precise and has a lot of features, the waveforms are tuned to not have any glitches, the sine is very close to perfect as well. It tracks 1V/octave over 15 octaves, meaning it will always stay in tune even over huge ranges. There is a switch to go to LFO rate to use this oscillator for modulation duties, and there is even a two color LED to indicate the frequency at low rates. The oscillator is a triangle core and has saw, rectangle, triangle and sine wave outputs.
The A-111-2 has a lot of modulation options and manual controls, for pitch there is an octave switch and a coarse and fine tune, in addition to the 1V/octave input there is an exponential frequency modulation input with attenuator, as well as a linear FM input with attenuator. There is a linear frequency knob as well that adjusts the overall frequency and range of the oscillator. There is manual pulse width and pulse width modulation that changes the rectangle wave output. There are also inputs for hard and soft sync.
If you want the precision of the A-111-2 but in a smaller module with less controls there is also the A-111-3 Micro Precision VCO that is built around the same oscillator core.
