I use the Boss CE-5 with bass guitar and it sounds very good. It's easy to use and build to last. The filter knobs let you dial in which frequency ranges are effected by the chorus and are the reason I chose this pedal. Yes it can be metallic sounding but that can be tweaked. It is surprisingly transparent. I was expecting a much more lush tone but as it turns out I'm using the CE5 to lightly color my leads. Pretty much everything at 12, give or take and i get a wonderfully, fuller experience. It's not perfect but for the build quality and price a keeper.
