Video: Suhr Releases Aura Guitar and Riot Mini Distortion From NAMM 2018

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of its founding, Suhr has released a limited run of the Aura single-cutaway guitar. The Aura is an LP-style electric with plenty of flair of its own. The “authentic, deep-dish carve top” will be available in gorgeous flamed patterns, while the headstock is set a “less than traditional break angle” and also allows the strings to sit straighter.

John Suhr will have a direct hand in making each of the 100 Auras set for the 20th Anniversary run. Of the guitar, he says, “I grew up playing this type of guitar. It’s been a dream of mine to make the perfect version for me; one that eliminates the niggles that always personally bugged me.”

The guitar will not be available until Summer 2018.

Meanwhile, the company also announced the release of its new Riot Mini. Like Suhr’s original Riot pedal before it, the Riot Mini promises the type of distortion achieved when cranking a sensitive, hi-gain 100W head, but now in a minituature, pedalboard-friendly size.
