At NAMM this year, Pittsburgh Modular demoed its newest synthesizer, the Microvolt 3900. This entirely standalone unit is a first for the company that, before now, has never released a non-eurorack unit. We had a chance to stop by their NAMM booth to have a look.
The Microvolt 3900 is the amalgamation of a lot of the features that we've seen in previous Pittsburgh Modular eurorack modules and a host of new and unique functionality.
Its saw-based oscillator, for instance, includes wave-shaping controls that give users control over extra parameters, like pulse-width. The sine wave control also features an extra "harmonic sine" button that you can engage that'll add extra harmonics to an otherwise clean sine.
