About this listing
This is a rare 1970 Marshall JMP 50.The model is 1985 which has the factory V1 shared cathode design like the earlier plexi circuit. It produces Warmer and Rounder tone. Tight thick low end and less harsh high end. I have used it a few times in my home studio while Ive owned it. It has the Holy Grail pair of transformers. Drake 1202-164 power and Drake 784-139.I purchased this from the UK and although it has a new US plug I run it at 220. It can be switched on the back dial to 110 if you like. I am not a tech but the amp is sounding great. Please look to pics for the conditions. The most important - output transformer - is original and the power transformer is the correct one but is missing 1 screw and has a spliced wire. Maybe nothing but if it is replaced it was done with a vintage correct type.I played it through a vintage jbl d120 paper cone 2x12 cab to test and there was plenty of low end and pleasing highs available. I also have a matching rare 1969 4x12 2032 cabinet available with pre rola pulsonic g12m25 speakers. That is pickup only. Head will ship and price is for rare head only.
