The AS103 is an Artcore Custom series hollow body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2006. It was made in China. The AS103 features a full-sized, double-cutaway, semi-hollow body design with a laminated flamed maple top with ƒ holes and ivory multi-binding on flamed maple back and sides mated to a set-in maple and walnut neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with ivory binding and abalone custom block position markers. Components include a pair of Ibanez Super 58 Custom humbucking pickups with gold covers and individual volume and tone controls, a Tune-o-matic style bridge with a Quik Change Ultra tailpiece with integrated fine tuners, a plastic nut, a flamed maple pickguard finished to match the body, rosewood knobs, and Ibanez tuning machines with white buttons. For 2009 the Quik Change Ultra tailpiece was replaced with the Quik Change III which doesn't have fine tuners. The AS103L is a left-handed version. Several similar models with different body materials were produced — the AS103BM (burl mahogany), the AS103HK (Hawaiian koa), and the AS103SM (spalted maple). The AF105 is a related full-hollow model. This AS103 was discontinued after 2012. The somewhat similar AS153 was introduced for 2013.Specifications for AS103Year(s) offered: 2006–2012Sold in: WorldwideMade in: ChinaFinish(es): Amber Burst (AMB) 2007–2008 / Natural (NT) / Vintage Burst (VB) 2009–2012BodyBody type:Semi-hollow bodyBody dimensions:Length: 489mm / 19¼"Width: 400mm / 15¾"Depth: 67mm / 2⅝"Top:Material: Flamed maple (laminated)Binding: Ivory multi-plyBack/sides:Material: Flamed maple (laminated)Neck joint:Set-inBridge:ART-1 (10.5mm string spacing)Tailpiece:2006–2008: Quik Change Ultra2009–2012: Quik Change IIIPickguard:Flamed mapleKnob style:Rosewood bellHardware color:GoldNeckNeck profile:Artcore Custom ASNeck material:5-piece maple/ walnutScale length:628mm/ 24¾"Fingerboard material:Rosewood w/ ivory bindingFingerboard inlays:Abalone custom blockFrets:22 / medium nickel silverNut:Ivory plastic (43mm)Machine heads:Ibanez die-cast w/ white acrylic half-moon buttonsString gauge (factory):.010/.013/.017/.030/.042/.052Factory tuning:1E,2B,3G,4D,5A,6E (E Std.)ElectronicsPickup configuration:HHBridge pickup:Ibanez Super 58 Custom (H) passive/ceramicNeck pickup:Ibanez Super 58 Custom (H) passive/ceramicControls:Two individual volumes / two individual tones / 3-way toggle pickup selectorOutput jack:¼" mono (side mounted)
